How AI was used here
ALIGN asks students and faculty to be transparent about AI use. This page applies the same standard to ALIGN itself.
The framework
The ALIGN framework — its six levels, design principles, and guidance — was researched, written, and decided by the AMP 3.3.b Team at Montgomery College. It adapts the internationally validated AI Assessment Scale (Perkins, Furze, Roe, & MacVaugh, 2024) to Montgomery College’s context. AI did not author the framework or make any decisions about its content.
The documents
An artificial intelligence tool (Claude, developed by Anthropic) was utilized to support the synthesis, summarization, and organization of information produced by the 3.3.b Team, and to assist with drafting and formatting the ALIGN guides. All information was independently reviewed, verified, and approved by the authors prior to publication.

This site was designed and built by Daniel Umana with AI assistance (Claude, developed by Anthropic) used for code generation and design iteration under human direction. The framework descriptions, sample assignment language, and course examples shown on this site are drawn from the ALIGN source documents — not generated by AI for this page.
In ALIGN’s own vocabulary, this site was built the way a Level 3–4 assignment would be: AI assisted with portions of the work, a human directed the process, reviewed every output, and remains responsible for the result — and this page is the visible thinking.
